LANSING, MI: Jackson National Life Insurance, which markets its services in 49 states, has hired Matthew Gonring as VP of corporate communications.
Gonring has been tapped to oversee corporate communications functions, including executive communications, media relations, internal communications, community relations, financial communications, social media and digital strategy, and corporate advertising initiatives. CC&A Insurance/IM wants to ensure that the new Insurance/IM organization builds a strong and sustainable reputation by communicating with the strength of a single voice, by developing a global positioning strategy and by deploying it in close cooperation with their global communications network and through world-class communications leadership. At Head Office level, CC&A Insurance/IM is organized into three specific departments: In- and External Communications (including Web Expert Centre), Branding & Positioning and Corporate Responsibility and Public & Government Affairs.
Your department and challengeDepartment – Internal and External Communications Internal Communications focuses on communicating ING Insurance/IM strategy, brand, winning performance culture and integrity and values to every ING Insurance/IM employee. This includes the responsibility of an overall communications strategy, planning and control for ING Insurance/IM network, CEO and leadership communications and determine the content of corporate intranet and online magazines.
External Communications focuses on media relations (MR), the link between ING Insurance/IM and the media worldwide, and public relations (PR), responsible for communication of ING Insurance/IM strategy and other key messages to the outside world. This incorporates managing (coordination and advice) and handling press contacts with (inter)national media to ensure a proper disclosure of (potential) price sensitive information and issues that concerns ING Insurance/IM as a whole, and to produce, organise and give advice regarding the Annual Report, the AGM, Quarterly disclosures, Insurance/IM website and board presentations.
The Web Expert Center will represent CC&A in existing cross-department projects which focus on building and improving Insurance/IM intranet and takes a project management role in relation to intranet projects within CC&A. The WEC will take the lead in building, managing and improving the internet portal of Insurance/IM and work closely with IT and other corporate departments.
